- March 2008 --- UWMC "Eats" Event for student scholarships
Kris Rasmussen featured breads and bars that she typically prepares for Downtown Grocery each Monday afternoon for this UWMC Foundation fundraising event.


- February 2008 --- Badger State Games
Downtown Grocery prepared a Vegetarian Chili for the community members and athletes attending the Saturday evening Winter Festival held inside the historic Rothschild Pavilion located in the Village of Rothschild. A display of fireworks served to close the Festival evening!


- January 2008 --- YWCA Wausau's "Men Who Cook" 2008 Fundraising Event
Downtown Grocery offered discounts to all Chefs preparing dinner for eight guests each at 24+ tables and donated ingredients for the Shawn VanDalfsen and Kevin Eichelberger table to raise funds for YWCA programs! Shawn owns VanDalfsen's, 402 Third Street, Wausau. Kevin owns Red Eye Brewing opening on 612 Washington Street, Wausau. In addition, Kevin Korpela (co-owner of Downtown Grocery) served as Chef #3 to assist Mr. VanDalfsen and Mr. Eichelberger in preparing dinner for our eight guests.


- November 2007 --- Alternative Holiday Market 2007
Kevin Korpela hosted a booth at the "Alternative Holiday Market" with 20+ other businesses and artisans held inside the UU Church, 5th & Grant Streets, the weekend after the Thanksgiving Day Holiday. The Market was organized by the Simple & Sustainable Living Network of Central Wisconsin.


- November 2007 --- Food and fashion display for the annual Festival of Trees 2007
Downtown Grocery donated four baskets for this Aspirus Hospital Fundraising Event held at the Rose Garden and partnered with Van Dalfsen's in organizing a combination food and fashion display.


- November 2007 --- Farmshed.org Local Food Tribute Dinner and Auction
Downtown Grocery donated a gift certificate for the silent auction to raise money to increase the awareness of local food options in Central Wisconsin. The Local Food Tribute Dinner and Auction provided an evening of nourishing food, music and conversation to celebrate Central Wisconsin’s local food culture.


- October 2007 --- Michael Fields Agricultural Institute Mini-Courses
Blaine Tornow lectured on the topic of "Medicinal Herbs" at an Institute mini-course.


- October 2007 --- Greenheck Fan Corporation Health Fair
Blaine Tornow and Lynette hosted a booth and enjoyed good conversations with employees of Greenheck Fan.


- October 2007 --- Citizen Wausau.com Launch Party
Downtown Grocery provided veggie pizzas, black bean salad, tomato salsa and chips to celebrate the launch of Wausau's newest blog, Citizen Wausau.


- October 2007 --- Mike Tewes Benefit Concert
Downtown Grocery donated a gift certificate to raise money at this benefit concert and auction to help pay the medical bills for Mike Tewes' chemo treatments.


- October 2007 --- Green Bay Food Show 2007 sponsored by Reinhart Food Service
Blaine Tornow, Lynette and Debbie attended a one-day food show in Green Bay.


- September 2007 --- YWCA Garden Club
Blaine Tornow gave a presentation about organic food and farming to members of the Garden Club.


- September 2007 --- Artfest 10K Run/Walk 2007
Downtown Grocery was a sponsor for this annual run/walk held during the Art Festival Weekend.


- August 2007 --- Chicago Food Show 2007 sponsored by United Natural Foods
Blaine Tornow, Lynette and Debbie attended a two-day food show in Chicago.


- June 2007 --- "Wausau's Best The Ultimate Gift Basket"
Downtown Grocery donated a gift certificate and two food items to the "Wausau's Best The Ultimate Gift Basket" for a silent auction to support the New Addition Building Fund for the Covenant Community Presbyterian Church.


- April 2007 --- Wausau Half-Marathon
Downtown Grocery donated Spicy Indian Dahl soup and goodie bags with blue corn chips for the runners after the race inside the Wausau Center Mall.


- April 2007 --- Grebe's Cooking Class titled "Organic Delights"
Blaine Tornow and Debbie were the featured chefs for a cooking class titled, "Organic Delights: tasty vegetarian cooking with local and organic ingredients."


- March 2007 --- UWMC "Eats" Event for student scholarships
Blaine Tornow and Debbie featured a Southwestern Chili and Roasted Corn and Black Bean Salad for this fundraising event for the UWMC Foundation.


- January 2007 --- YWCA Wausau's "Men Who Cook" 2007 Fundraising Event
Downtown Grocery provided nearly all of the ingredients for one of the 24 tables and we provided a discount to the other 23 male cooks whom prepared dinner for their eight guests for this annual event.


- December 2006 --- Conference for the Minnesota Fruits & Vegetable Growers Association
Blaine Tornow attended this Annual Conference to talk with growers about medicinal herbs.


- Fall 2006 --- Weston Half-Marathon 2006
Downtown Grocery was a sponsor for this run/walk.
