Downtown Grocery News 7/23/2007 - One big idea

Hello Downtown Grocery Shopper,

We've one big idea to share with you today.

NEW WEEKLY EVENT: Tapas Wednesday with Free Wine Tasting
Our special evening last week, Tapas Wednesday, was a popular attraction and that's good news because we'll continue Tapas Wednesday every week through August.

This new weekly event features free wine tasting from 4-6 PM with three of our 30 wine selections plus we'll serve tapas, a Spanish-style appetizers, that will be sold by the plate.

The tapas will be available for take-out to enjoy with your friends and family attending the Concerts on the Square at the 400 Block located two blocks from our store.

We're working on the tapas recipes for this week but for your reading enjoyment, here's a list of the tapas we served last week:

Tapas served last week:
1. Stuffed Mushrooms --- mushrooms stuffed with olive oil, garlic, mushrooms, lemon juice, sherry wine, mushroom broth, paprika, red pepper flakes, parsley.
2. Potatas Bravas --- thinly sliced potatoes in a red sauce.
3. Spanish Tortillas --- not a tortilla in the usual way, they were similar to a quiche made with egg, onions, and summer squash.
4. Chickpea and Roasted Red Bell Pepper Toast --- a spicy bean salad served with tasty toast.
5. Bruschetta Crisps --- a tomato and balsamic vinegar salsa served with crispy bread chips.

Again, the recipes for this week are in progress. We hope you'll be available this Wednesday afternoon to stop-in for samples of wine and a plate of tasty tapas!
