Hello Downtown Grocery Shopper,
It's been two weeks since our last newsletter and we've several new items to report:

1. NEW MEATS --- Beef, pork and chicken
We've added 34 new items made with beef, pork and chicken prepared by a local butcher and the prices are competitive with other stores. These new items are a great complement to the 20 different types of organic & pasture-raised meats offered since we opened. Check-out new items at three locations in the store:
- Produce Cooler: Snack packs beef sticks with cheese
- Cooler Door #4: Smoked chicken, ham and summer sausages
- Freezer Door #9: Steaks, chops, ground beef, whole chickens.

2. NEW FRUITS AND VEGETABLES ARRIVING SATURDAY
Arriving between Noon and 1 PM is our weekly shipment with many new items:
- Strawberries
- Cauliflower
- Cilantro
- Fresh Herbs: Basil, Tarragon, Thyme
- Leeks
- Romaine Lettuce
- Mammonth Tangelos
Also arriving on Saturday are new shipments of our regular items:
- Bananas
- Braeburn Apples
- Cucumbers, Super-Select
- Red Cabbage
- Limes
- Portabella and White Mushrooms
- Red Onions and Yellow Onions
- Crunchy Bean Sprouts: great on a salad or eat them like popcorn
- Tomatoes: Regular and Roma
- Spring Mix Loose-leaf Salad and Spinach
- Zucchini Squash
- and Jewel Yams #1 Size: a tasty customer favorite!
GREENHOUSE SPECIAL --- Chives
- Fresh-cut organic chives just arrived from the greenhouse at Moonshadow Farm!

3. YAHOO NEWS --- Eat organic or locally-grown food
Yahoo News reviewed the idea to buy organic food or locally-grown food? Our answer at Downtown Grocery is that "We offer both!!!" It is interesting isn't it...one year ago --- no grocery store in downtown. One year later, we've Downtown Grocery with its focus on local and organic products (with conventional items too) and national/state news reports featuring multiple stories about food, farming, and eating locally-grown and organic products.
