Hello Downtown Grocery Shopper,
Thank you for your many good questions and compliments this past week. Several new items have arrived at Downtown Grocery:
1. NEW PRODUCE:
- Braeburn Apples Organic at 79 cents each
- Red Delicious Apples Organic at 69 cents each
- Honey Tangerines, tasty (with seeds).
2. EVERYDAY-BAKED BREAD: We bake a basket of bread each day. New flavor this week:
- Potato Onion Oval.
3. NEW NAKED: A new Naked Juice flavor, Black Currant, is made from the following:
- 74 Blackcurrants
- 12 Blackberries
- 1 1/4 Bananas
- 2/3 Apple
- A hint of Pineapple
- Plus Concord Grapes for good measure
- And these boosts:
--- Echinacea
--- Acerola Cherry
--- Citrus Bioflavonids
--- Rose Hips
--- Vitamin C
--- Potassium
--- and 4 g of fiber.
4. WATERMELON ON THIRD? Yes, it's true, two watermelon and two cantalope are available on Third Street for your enjoyment! Maybe they would make a nice fruit salad or fit nicely with an Early Spring Picnic?
5. NEW SNACKS: We've several new snack treats including:
- Newman's Own Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups
- Clif Mojo Peanut Butter Pretzel Sweet & Salty Trail Mix Bar
- Kettle Bakes Pretzel Chips:
---- Dip them into the hummus and pesto made in our own kitchen, Deliberations (an urban deli). Dips, slaws, and salads are located behind Cooler Door #1.

7. REAL COCONUTS ARE ON THE WAY! We sold-out of our last shipment of real coconuts and nine more should be arriving this Friday. These coconuts have the same "coconut water" as featured in the new packaged beverage stated in item #6 except the packaging is the real thing.

8. TIME MAGAZING features "EAT LOCAL": Eating a diet with a focus on locally grown vegetables and fruits hits the national media again! Our December 7th Newsletter linked to ABC News articles on eating locally grown produce. Now, the March 12th cover of Time features "Eat Local!" Our store, of course, has a focus towards sourcing local or organic produce and prepared food items:
