Downtown Grocery News 3/5/2007
Hello Downtown Grocery Shopper,
It's been almost five weeks since our last newsletter as we've been busy at Downtown Grocery but we'll work to be more frequent with our news! Here's a list of some new items & services:
1. SALADS, DIPS AND SPREADS: Single-serving tubs of salads and dips are popular and these flavors are ready to go:
- Roasted Corn and Black Bean Salad
- Roasted Red Pepper Hummus
- Sundried Tomato Hummus
- Garlic Hummus
2. NEW SALADS: We've a couple of new flavors planned for this week:
- Slivered Pepper, Carrot and Snow Pea Salad...It's beautiful colors are a sight to see!
- Crunchy Bok Choy Salad with crunchiness from the Daikon Radish
3. NEW CHEESES: New cheeses have arrived:
- Spanish Manchego Aged Goat Cheese
- Widmer's Medium Aged Brick
4. POPULAR CHEESES: Our favorite cheeses have returned in good quantity:
- Bellavitano Sartori Reserve
- Stravecchio Extra Aged Parmesan!
5. EVERYDAY-BAKED BREAD: We're featuring tasty baked bread! Everyday we bake multiple loaves of a variety of flavors:
- Sourdough Baguette
- French Baguette
- Ciabatta
- French Batard
- Multigrain Loaf
- Three types of rolls, perfect with our bowls of soup!
--- Seeded French Dinner Roll
--- Honey Wheat Dinner Roll
--- French Dinner Roll
- More flavors are on the way!
6. NEW VEGETABLE-FRUIT DRINK: Try a Kagome drink, it's similar to Naked Juices but with veggies and fruit. Flavors include:
- True Vegetable Garden
- Autumn Reds
- Burgundy Berry Blossom
- Golden Peach Garden
7. NEW CRACKERS: Several new crackers arrived:
- Sesame Ginger Rice Thins...lightly crisped baked crackers
- Tomato Herb Rice Thins...lightly crisped baked crackers
- Hol-Grain Crackers Brown Rice with a light touch of salt
8. NEW CANNED SOUP: Two new flavors from Amy's:
- Chunky Tomato Bisque
- Butternut Squash
9. FAST BREAKFAST: Grab a quick breakfast with a bowl of hot oatmeal topped with Super Chunky (and warm) Applesauce. Served from 8 to about 10:30 AM.
10. WINDOW MURAL ANNIVERSARY! It was one year ago this week when we painted the huge colorful mural of vegetables & fruits plus a great pumpkin on our storefront window to serve as a construction screen (but with peepholes) and temporary sidewalk art as we reconstructed a flower shop into an old-fashioned neighborhood grocery store!
