Hello Downtown Grocery Shopper,
We hope your Thanksgiving Holiday was filled with family, friends and good food! FEATURED THIS WEEK at Downtown Grocery:
1. Dried Figs --- eat right out of the bag OR use in recipes such as with your favorite pizza (soak figs in water to soften a bit, then mix with ham and gorgonzola, place on top of your flatten pizza dough, and bake!)
2. Local & Organic Mixed Salad Greens such as Red Leaf Chard, Baby Chard, Swiss Chard --- from the greenhouse at Moonshadow Farm located near Little Chicago.
3. Banana Cream Pie Baked-in-a-cup --- yes, that's right, we bake a personal-sized pie in a paper cup. We had good success with our Pumpkin Pie Baked-in-a-cup, so this week we've prepared a new flavor, Banana Cream, to be available late Monday Afternoon.
4. All Blue Potatoes, Local & Organic, from Moonshadow Farm, $1.89/lb --- blue skins with blue & white on the inside.
5. Yukon Gold & Red Pontiac Potatoes from Moonshadow Farm, $1.59/lb
6. Breads from La Baguette, Minocqua, in our Freezer section --- heat in your oven for five to ten minutes and the loaf tastes like it arrived from the bakery: includes Baguette, Rustic Baguette, Cranberry Walnut, Multi-grain and Country Italian.
