Determined and Creative Grocery Team
Downtown Grocery™ is run by a determined, creative and friendly group of cashiers, chefs, cooks and organizers, and is owned by a FARMER and an ARCHITECT:
- Farmer Blaine Tornow is one of the two co-owners of Downtown Grocery. He also owns Moonshadow Farm (MOSA Certified Organic) and Tornow Forest Products, both located west of Wausau. Tornow Forest Products supplied lumber used to outfit our market with shelving, case-work and built-in cabinets!
- Architect Kevin Korpela is the other owner of Downtown Grocery. He is an architect with Becher Hoppe in Wausau and runs an idea services firm, ObservatoryDrive.com. Kevin also volunteer on two local groups:
- Committee member, ChalkFest Wausau: a street-chalk festival located on the 400 Block/City Square
- Secretary, Commission for a Greener Tomorrow: providing leadership for a more sustainable community
