What is Downtown Grocery.com™?
Downtown Grocery™ is a small market with big ideas!
1. Small market with big ideas An old-fashioned grocery market set inside a windowed storefront with wood floors & tin ceilings.
2. Food! We sell food! Milk, eggs, cheese, meats, grains, frozen foods, and canned and boxed goods. It's an Everyday Farm & Grocery Market! Yes, fresh organic vegetables and fruits available seven-days-a-week!
3. Our own organic farm Offering a wide assortment of produce from our own farm: MoonShadow Farm, MOSA Certified Organic. We also source from many local and regional farmers, growers, producers and bakers.
4. Fresh, local, organic We emphasize fresh, local or organically grown/raised products to support our local Foodshed.
5. Quick meals and a slow life Enjoy grab-and-go breakfast and lunch items prepared in our kitchen, Deliberations (an urban deli); drink from a selection of three coffees (all from local roasters) or a tea-of-the-day (with loose-leaf teas from Rishi Tea, Milwaukee); or share good food with good company for a Slow Life!
6. Your Grocery List and a Big Food Selection Downtown Grocery.com™ is the source for your grocery short-list: that list of items scrawled on refrigerator chalk-boards, mentioned in voice mails, or noted in emails. Our market features a wide selection of produce and groceries including fruits & vegetables, milk & eggs, meats & bread, frozen & dry goods, chips & salsa, and beer & wine. Plus everyday needs such as toilet paper, light bulbs, toothpaste and soap.
7. Information-website Visit our info-website at www.downtowngrocery.com.
8. An old-fashioned neighborhood grocery store
Downtown Grocery is "an old-fashioned neighborhood grocery store" nurturing a local food economy by offering organic and conventional products grown by regional farmers or prepared in local kitchens. We also run our own kitchen, Deliberations (an urban deli), preparing ready-to-go/grab-and-go/self-serve hot & cold breakfast and lunches plus take-home items too, for example, our soups are available in our freezer section!
9. "Best Retail Block in Town" The 607 Third Street storefront is ideal because we're next to Sweets on Third and across from Back When Café, Black Purl, Studio E Salon & Gallery, Et Al's Read & Unread Books, Rillings Shades, Inner Piece, LaPaul Furs, Evolutions in Design, Bridal & Formal Salon, and La Prima Deli.
10. Grocery Team The market is run by a local certified organic farmer and a local architect plus a team of energetic chefs, cooks, cashiers and organizers. Farmer Blaine Tornow, MoonShadow Farm, and Architect Kevin Korpela, Becher Hoppe and Observatory Drive.com, are the two dedicated and determined leaders of Downtown Grocery.
11. Email Newsletter Send an Email to Kevin Korpela to request our email newsletter featuring new inventory selections and services, and interesting notes about food and farming!
12. Local Food Economy "We feature local and regional farmers and producers to nurture an earth-friendly social place for sharing food ideas and growing a local food economy! Hey, by the way, farmer's rule!"
* A good neighbor Connects place with people, strengthens farm to markets, reinforces downtown!
